Pot Size: 1.5 litre Price: £15.00 Description: A rare evergreen perennial that is a close relative of Actaea, from mountainous forests of western China. Which is where I found it growing in a small copse on a hill overlooking Tian Chi Lake, Yunnan at a heady elevation of almost 4,000m. Forming dense clumps of cordate glossy and leathery leaves, embossed with highlighted white/pale venation, all colouring up through the winter months. Bearing upright spikes to 30cm tall of starry white flowers for several months from April and sporadically through the summer. Best grown in a well drained 'woodsy' soil that does not dry out completely, in full to part shade. Best propagated from seed, the same as many of its close relatives that resent being divided when too small.
