Description: A rarely encountered North American species, introduced into cultivation by Dr. James Compton, from a deep canyon in the middle of the Arizona desert. With shortly creeping rhizomes bearing 1-1.2m tall upright branching stems, with divided and serrated foliage below the upright spikes of white bottle-brush like flowers August-Sept. Best grown in a drained fertile soil with some moisture retention, in full-part shade.
