Description:
A favourite for the foliage alone, which are eventually very large rugose brilliant green with deeply impressed venation on the upper surface and silvery-grey on the undersides. Flowering May-June in terminal heads of crimson-rose purple bells. Eventually forming a small congested tree if grown in sheltered conditions. One of our collections from the Lachung Valley, close to the border with Bhutan in north-eastern Sikkim, as long ago as late autum of 1994, at 3,500m. Best grown in sun or part shade in a drained moisture retentive lime free soil. **** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** These plants are only supplied as open ground/bare-rooted plants, the pot size given is for the purpose of calculating carriage only.
