Description:
It was at the end of a very long day that we came across this tall woody species at around 4 m tall forming a small colony with broad sword-shaped silvery leaves born spirally atop the slender trunks. Reputed to attain 6m in this species with long flowering scapes of sizeable yellow rayed-flowers. Growing mixed in with small shrubs, grasses and other perennials at 3,400m. We have had some success growing these outdoors in a well drained, but moisture retentive soil that is well lit, but does not get excessively hot in summer, although it was -15C that killed them off after many years.
