Description: Strange how some names conjure up vivid images in ones mind. Garibash is the name of the bunkhouse we rested that evening we collected the seed of this distinct red veined yellow flowed species at around 2,700m on the Singalila Ridge, on the Indian side of the Nepalese border. There was a meandering stream below, where our pack horses grazed, with a dense patch of this species at the far end, below some mountain ash that I also had an eye on. Here it had formed a fairly dense colony of flexuous reddened much branched stems with narrow pale green pointed foliage. With the distinct dumpy helmet flowers with short curved spurs curled up below the heavily veined mouth. Best grown in a moisture retentive humusy soil in good light. The identity is puzzling as this species is recorded for China.
