A caudiciform shrubby species that we collected seed of, at one of the highest peaks within the Golden Triangle, in Northern Thailand. Where it formed small stocky shrubs to 1m tall, growing in small pockets and cracks of solid limestone, in both sun and shade. With stems to 10cm across, bearing thick textured deciduous leaves on the current seasons growth along with axillary yellow and white rounded helmet-like flowers.
